Really lovely hotel and very well presented. Breakfast of salmon and scrambled eggs was spot on and a pizza in the evening was as good as anywhere. Room very comfortable. Only reason for not giving 5 stars was it took a while to check in (it was a Friday evening and the staff were busy, but everyone was extremely polite). Well done and thank you for a brief, but enjoyable stay.

What a beautiful place to stay. A warm, friendly welcome by everyone here. Food was amazing and the rooms are spacious with great facilities. Such a Christmas feel here with all the decor and open fire places. Located in the heart of Shaftesbury amongst the little independent shops that are well worth exploring and a short walk from Gold Hill, made famous by the Hovis advert. Stay here, it’s wonderful and will not disappoint

Lovely reception, particularly as had my dog and had to park outside on double yellow lines. Kind reception looked after Orla whilst I parked. We were tired 4pm. Not a problem at all to get a pizza to the room. Such kindness and hospitality Most appreciated

My stay here was flawless. Large rooms with superb facilities and excellent staff. The restaurant here is also exceptional. Small seasonal menu with local produce. The pizza here is truly outstanding and was a surprise to have such quality in semi rural Dorset. Cocktails were very tasty and prepared with care. Local cheeses and dessert are also highly recommended. I shall definitely be coming back here in the future.

We had a table in the bar where we enjoyed a tasty 3 course meal while a local choir sang all the favourite Christmas songs and carols. Service was good inspite of being very busy. A delightful 2 hours.

Went for a meal and drinks, the service was very good. Great staff and so friendly, my only gripe is that we paid and after we left noticed there was a service charge on my bill. My fault as i should have checked but maybe they could mention this at the time.

Been twice for drinks , first time they had an issue with beer so to have something else . Second time , very busy at bar with only two staff . With taking food orders , then making cocktails. It was ten minutes before getting served. Had a sparkling water, had to pour this myself. G&T , not offered any selection of gins . Have a local gin at top price . Expected a bit more choice and better service from the main hotel of the town.

Went for Sunday lunch. The roast chicken was incredibly small so I expected a bit more meat for the price of £17. Service was a bit slow but our dog was welcomed with water and treats.
